For this project, I was asked to come with an idea for an app before i did this i researched random apps to get the idea of how it'a going to do in he market how it is described and other stuff. once i got the idea i decided that i would do a cooking themed app, I had to come up with names that sounds inviting and i came up with 'Love food', this is for my company name but as for the app name i decided to go with 'I love desserts' and i had to present my idea while being filmed, at the time we were supposed to have a presentation ready but in my case it disappeared but even without it i still got through the questions i was asked even without it.
After this i had to think of how to describe it because i already know how it's going to look and how it's going to work and this is where the schematic comes in. a schematic is a diagram that shows how one thing links to another and that's what i did with mine, first i started saying how when you open my app on iPhone or iPad it will start with a loading screen, after the loading screen is the home page which has a menu bar on the top left corner and if you tap on it four other bars will appear and those four other bars are linked to their own individual page like for example having a share will take you to a page where the are four links to the social media including Facebook and Twitter.
For the technical part of this whole process using flash for editing my app advertisement wasn't very easy for me because i kept forgetting things like how to get a hand to move across the screen then tap on my app and also slowing some things down, but i got the hang of it and finished it and even though it's not perfect I'm satisfied with the results that came out of it.
On the creative part of this process i had to create a logo for my company and a logo for my app, the first thing i thought of was the love for food and desserts so that's when i decided to use a heart as a base for the logo. For the logo i used a red heart with a black outline, now i just had to decide how the company name will fit in it, because the name of my company logo is 'Love Food' i searched for a chef's hat in silhouette and i found the perfect one with cutlery in the hat and hats why i thought it was perfect. Now for my app logo i used a chocolate brown heart with a black outline but i used some effects on it to make it look a bit more cake like to fit the them of my app.
After I've done the company and app logo i started working on how I want the example of my app to look like in the advert so i started by taking a white iPhone then started to to cover it with a with a beige colored screen, then I started making lines to divide the contents of my app like the time, the date and the menu bar.
For the four other bars i also got the images from the internet and used it. Once I've finished doing those i had to make the iPhone based on my schematic diagram to use for my advert to link the scenes together, i repeated this process 6 times but using different images to show how the contents link to one another. All the images that i used for my advert were all created on Microsoft PowerPoint.
Time wise i think i could've finished the whole process of making it if my first presentation about my app idea didn't disappear so i had to create a new one, it didn't take me long but if i already had it i could've finished the other stuff with the time i used doing it again. Making my logo's took me about 20 minutes including think of how it will look and looking for the images i needed to use from the internet. For the part with how my app will look like in the iPhone it took me just under an hour because all i had to do was copy and paste images onto an iPhone with a blank beige screen and making it look like a page for an app and i just repeated this 6 times.
Over all I'm pretty satisfied with the results came from it and if i was to do the project again i would spent more time planning and designing how my app will look like and also spend more time on understanding and making the animation.
